The H.Having a 256 codec makes video play across most major platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Mac computers, Youtube, Facebook, Vimeo, and Hulu computers.  These later compression codecs may or may not work on the majority of different devices. This may only happen if they are quite old.  By making x264 available, your audience can reach a much wider base.
