Recording sound from nearly every source is possible with Total Recorder. It provides CD/DVD discs, microphones, line inputs, all of the above as well as recording any sound from a telephone conversation captured via the Internet directly from any gaming or program. You can store music in video games (such as Windows Media Player, QuickTime, RealPlayer, and WinAmp). It uses a scheduler to manage the recording, and its files are in MP3 and WAV formats. Up to forty seconds may pass between unground records when an unregistered version is used.
