My decision to use MD5 Checksum as a modern day tool was informed by the fact that downloading files using the internet can be somewhat tricky. Installing it on my computer allows me to ensure that the file I am downloading does not have any strange changes coming from a third party. When I check any files I download with MD5 Checksum, I feel secure.
