LEGO Digital Designer

Using Lego digital designer's built-in features, users are able to model LEGO creations with Lego bricks and assemble their own designs via their desktop computer. Lego created the technology in 2004. Furthermore, users could design their own models of which they would receive a box filled with all the pieces to build, and detailed instructions to accompany their designs. The experience is incredibly helpful considering the limitless number of brick selections provided. The delivery service was discontinued as part of LEGO's plan to retire it on January 16, 2012. For reasons of overwhelming complexity, a company wasn't able to meet the quality standards of all its customers because it couldn't keep up with its demand.

A model can be saved and shared via the platform.An example would be a LEGO LXF file or screenshots which is available for sharing via screenshot. In addition to storyboarding and model building for The LEGO Movie, LEGO Digital Designer was used.

Both English and German versions of the software can be obtained. Freeware is available. Lego Digital Designer's last stable release was version 4.3.11 released on January 9, 2018, but is no longer being supported with new updates. This version is available on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.1 or higher.

Almost every popular LEGO brick can be obtained at this platform and is licensed by LEGO officially.
