GNS3 is a network design simulator that can be used to configure network settings and different network setup designs. Designing and developing your network configuration beforehand is the best way to make sense of your network. Designed for use on Cisco computers, GNS3 is a tool that you can use to practice with different network setups and designs and figure out what is going to work best for you. This program is full of various options and settings that you may customize to simulate a particular network, for the best use. Gnos3 is a graphical network simulator utilizing Dynamips, Dynagen, or Pemu/Qemu. It is great for diagnosing problems and resolving issues related to a problem network. The system can also be used for more complex cloud-based work, such as connecting you to the Internet.servers, multiple devices, and many different configurations.

  • Uses a graphic interface to help visually imagine the network
  • Developed for Cisco computers
  • Can be used in the absence of network hardware, for example, routers
  • Technical enough for professional engineers to use
  • Includes access to a community of over 800,000 members

GNS3 is the perfect tool for engineers and students who need a graphic design interface to work with when designing, troubleshooting and configuring systems. It is free to download, and it is readily available for Windows systems as well. Besides the GNS3 study tools, it's also an excellent way to prepare for your Cisco CCNP certification. has been used extensively by students, and there will be an open group of almost a million people growing as the day goes on. You can network and communicate with these other users and discuss your designs, configurations, and setups. GNS3 is an essential tool for all engineers and students who are looking to expand their horizons with network design.

In addition to being complex enough for professional engineers to use, GNS3 is also easy enough for students to use.
It's nothing but the operating system developed by Microsoft company for the network in a risk-free manner. These operating systems are mainly supported by Windows and MAC OS. It acts as a real network interface.
Do you need FREE software to help you study for certification exams? Well, then you will be excited to use the free software download for GNS3. This software was developed over 10 years ago by, Jeremy Grossman, which he used as a tool to help study for the CCNP certificates. This system is used worldwide by Fortune 500 companies and professionals. Its popularity has grown to over 10 million downloads by a ever growning 800,000 users. I like the no limit on the number of devices that can be supported. It can support multiple switching options, vender environments, and all VIRL images. It also can run with (paid or free) or without hypervisors. All of this for the great price of FREE! A word of caution however, you will need to make sure that you have an updated download as this is a program that is over 10 years old and a lot has changed. CISCO images need to be supplied by the user. It is also not a self contained package and the software will need to be installed locally. The final caution to consider is the setup of the PC due to local limits such as firewall, security settings, and individual company policies regarding installation. All in all it is a time saving free download that will help in many applications. It is a great tool for learning and teaching. Thank you, Jeremy Grossman for developing a great resource!
I love using GNS3 for Windows because it lets me not only build and design a network of any size or scale but also test it in a virtual environment that has no risk. Probably my favorite feature is that it gives me access to a community of professional and amateur networkers who are able to help me out with my network. It's also perfect for my needs since it doesn't require me to have any special hardware.
Well.... I am also a gns3 user. It is a superb tool for network engineers to do all networking concepts in real time. I think it is the best simulation software in which we can integrate anything into it. And its main advantage is its size. It is one of the best light weight software. I also used cisco but once i started using gns3 i really felt the difference that gns3 is very user friendly and interactive. And i noticed a problem. If I add a bridged adapter to VM, then if i configure the Cloud I can't able to connect out of the network through any device I added in the GNS topology. And atlast yeah it have some bugs too. It will be more user friendly if the bugs are fixed.
