FIBPlus for Delphi is a component library for Ada, Kylix, C++ Builder and Delphi, designed to provide direct access to Firebird and InterBase. FIBPlus applications do not require additional software because the standard visual components as well as reporters (DataAbstract, TMSAdvDBGrid, QuickReport, IntraWeb, InfoPower, TDBEdit, etc.) use FIBPlus.There are several development tools available, including Kylix 3, RAD Studio XE, and C++ Builder 5.2009 - Rad Studio 6-Rad Studio 2009-2010, BDS 2005-. 2007 and Borland Delphi 5 in C++ (Turbo Delphi/C).The performance and power savings of programs that use FIBPlus are superior to those using analogues. Tools for managing local buffer records, caching metadata, reusing requests and performing other traffic optimizes are available in the library. The FIBPlus software also works with Unicode encoding, uses query repositories, and provides a variety of unique feature sets.

There is a library called FIBPlus which allows development of database applications using InterBase and Firebird. In addition to Delphi and C++ you can also download versions of these languages. In addition to all the additional features it offers, it doesn't add unnecessary overheads, and it's very easy for anyone to use.
