Delphi Tage 2011 in Cologne are sold out! Meet Sisulizer at 10th of September at Delphi Tage in Cologne's MediaPark. In a good tradition we will have a booth where our sales team presents the latest in Sisulizer development.
Highlight of the event will be David Intersimone's introduction of Delphi XE 2 in Germany. You will learn about 64bit Delphi, cross-platform development for OS X with FireMonkey. Sisulizer Version 3 is also round the corner and it will support Delphi XE 2 including 64bit and FireMonkey.

Sisulizer always comes with new features.

Even in the summer time our team is adding new platforms to Sisulizer all the time. Instead of sitting on beaches our R&D for example added these interesting platforms:

SQLite. Sisulizer now can localize the content of this databases and also import translations from it.
SQL Server Compact. Sisulizer now can localize the content of this databases and also import translations from it. Both database platforms have been implemented on customer request.
TES Guiliani files. This is a text format where context and values are spread into separate files. TES Guiliani is used for user interfaces of embedded systems.

As a customer of Sisulizer 2010 you get all these feature for free. Simply download the latest build and enjoy.

JSON

Support for the JSON format. The latest Sisulizer build 313 adds support for JSON a popular lightweight data-interchange format. It is based on a subset of the JavaScript programming language but can also be used with other programming languages. Now Sisulizer supports this format right out of the box.

The support for JSON files - like many other features - was implemented on user request. More info on our blog.

Build 309 improves segmentation

File-dependant segmentation settings. Segmentation in the context of localization is meant as splitting strings into smaller segments. Especially tagged text files like HTML often uses more text like whole paragraphs in a translatable string. Segmentation breaks this string into smaller parts like single sentences. Like you can imagine a single sentence is for your translators easier to read, understand and translate. Improved translation speed, and qualitity is the result. Also machine translation engines like Google Translate, and the use of Translation Memories is enhanced. Sisulizer Build 309 makes segmentation for HTML, CHM, and XML files available in the project wizard during project creation. Dogfooding

Eating our own dog food.
It is no secret that we at Sisulizer use Sisulizer to localize Sisulizer. And we use Sisulizer to localize Kaboom, our converter utility we give away for free.
Now we use Sisulizer 2010 Enterprise to also localize our new website. You can see the results at www.sisulizer.de. That's dogfooding at it's best.

Thanks to Sisulizer changes to the original website can be easily re-used on the localized version. A simple Scan for Changes in Sisulizer finds all changed and new parts and re-uses existing translations. This makes adding or changing content easy and safe. The result is a localized version of a website that is as up-to-date as the original.

The building of the localized version makes use of Sisulizer's SLMake command line utility. A single batch run copies all untranslated parts (like the online help embeded to the website or other intentially not localized pages), builds the localized files using SLMake, and finally uploads the changed content using ftp.

Build 307 improves localization of .po files

Localize .po files with plural forms. Other languages use different grammar. Most western languages use one word for a single item, and another for more than one items. But there languages on this planet that use a wider range of expressions to specify how much items they are talking about. Gnu gettext routines, and resulting .po files support this additional plural forms. So does Sisulizer. Read more in our blog The Localization Tool.

Hard coded strings to resources with CodeExplorer We are often be asked from Delphi developers how to localize hard-coded strings. Like most of you know Sisulizer localizes string resources in executables or resource dlls. For Delphi there exists with CodeExplorer a very promising tool from our Dutch Embarcadero CodeGear Technology Partner fellow Modelmaker Tools.
